What I mean is that you can get a high grade marble tile in 24x24 inches for around $7-9/ sft *and you can perhaps find tiles from the same type and quality in the size of 12”x12” for about $4.50-$5.00.* (

I have to start with the possibility that you might have to remove the old tiles from your floor. That would also add about $0.75 to a dollar per square-foot to the total cost of your flooring installation project. Now here comes the part that I can talk in the ballpark range. And that is the cost of the installation.

The price is always wary since there are no two jobs the same. But to satisfy your eager thirst to know how much you should expect to pay per square feet, I will tell you some ballpark prices. To install marble, natural stone or travertine tiles on the floor is going to cost you between $3.50-$4.50/ sft with setting material included. The same installation on a wall would run around $5.00-$9.50/sft. To install ceramic tiles will cost you a bit less in the $2.50-$3.00 range. (*Ballpark Prices) I have to mention though that if the flooring company for example needs to move furniture, the job requires many cuts, the installation is on the 18^th floor, the house needs elevator deposit and dumpster fees or you have a big angry dog in the yard, all these factors might raise the price a bit. (The dog part was a joke...)

 

So to sum it up, you first have to decide on the type and size of the flooring tile and negotiate with the floor installers about their fees for the installation.
